Kuwait- Bid to smuggle liquor foiled

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: Farwaniya detectives foiled an attempt to smuggle 200 bottles of various imported liquor into the local market just 24 hours before the Eid al-Adha holidays.

According to security sources, when the detectives received a tipoff about an Asian expatriate in possession of large number of imported liquor bottles and that he was on the verge of flooding the market with the liquor bottles due to Eid holidays, investigations were intensified to verify the information.

Armed with an arrest warrant, they later raided the apartment of the suspect in Farwaniya area and confiscated 200 bottles of liquor. He was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action
