Kuwait- Scores arrested in raid for illegals, criminals


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: Security campaigns launched by the Public Security Sector resulted in the arrest of six persons who are wanted by law for criminal, civil and absconding cases as well as 56 violators of residency law. Two wanted vehicles were seized and four drug-related and liquor related cases were registered.

Also, eight hawkers were arrested, three fights were settled, 149 complaints were received, 128 traffic citations were issued and a vehicle was seized.

In addition, 52 cases of humanitarian assistance were offered, and 38 traffic accidents were handled. Such campaigns are part of the efforts exerted by the Public Security Sector to maintain security, impose order and rule of law, prevent occurrence of crimes and arrest perpetrators through intensive security presence in all governorates in general especially highways to arrest offenders and seize wanted vehicles.

Missing girl found: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in possession of drugs along with a girl who was reported missing for 50 days. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Mubarak Al-Abdullah area when they noticed a car with two occupants parked in the parking lot of Mubarak Al-Abdullah Cooperative Society but away from the rest of the cars. They approached the car and found a couple inside it. When securitymen asked them for their civil IDs, they noticed the disoriented state of the man.

They checked their details to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens but the girl was reported to have escaped from her sister's house 50 days ago. Securitymen searched the vehicle to find a sachet of 'Chemical' drug. The driver was arrested and referred with the drug to the Drugs Control General Department while the girl was referred to the police station where her sister will be summoned and the missing case will be closed.
