Kuwait- Passport data confusion ends

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The security authorities have put an end to the confusion that prevailed among residents because the data on their passports does not tally with the data stored in the government system and causes confusion particularly the date of birth.

It was earlier published that this had resulted in many expatriates being prevented from leaving the country. The sources explained it is not necessary for residents to check with the Residence Affairs Departments with the exception of the Syrians, Iranians and the Iraqis.

It was pointed out all residents other than the three abovementioned nationalities can travel after signing pledges to correct the data after arrival.

The sources added this step has been taken to save the cost of stickers because it will cost the State Treasury much money if they are placed before departure especially since the validity of some passports is just a few months.
