Pakistan- Anti-dengue walk held in DI Khan

DI KHAN, 30 August: An anti-dengue awareness walk was held under the auspicious of Pakistan Red Crescent and with the cooperation of the provincial department in Dera Ismail Khan here on Wednesday.
Pakistan Red Crescent volunteers, Assistant Commissioner, police and media members, Gomal and Qurtaba universities' students participated in the walk. The walk participants rallied from Kachehri Chowk to District Headquarter Hospital to raise awareness among the masses against dengue and to observe all precautionary measures for the protection from this disease.
While addressing to the walk participants, Assistant Commissioner Captain (retd) Zubair Niazi said that awareness played a key role in fight against dengue because prevention was far better than cure. He said that it was the responsibility of every citizen to play his role for controlling dengue and protecting citizens from this dangerous disease by adopting all precautionary measures. He gave presentations on various aspects of dengue fever, its various stages and prevention and control.
Meanwhile, five new cases of dengue patients were reported in Buner taking the total number of dengue victims to 40 in the district.
