Flydubai losses increase amid yield, cost pressures


(MENAFN) Flydubai posted a loss of USD38.8mn in the Jan-June period of the year, weighed down by pressures of falling yields and rising costs.

Moreover, the airline's losses increased by 58.5 percent compared to the same period of 2016, when it posted a half-year loss of 89.9mn dirhams.

Additionally, revenues reached 2.5bn dirhams, an increase of 9.9 percent compared to the same period of 2016.

Accordingly, the increase in passenger numbers shows the strength of Flydubai's network linking previously underserved markets to Dubai.
