Saudi invites bids from 25 accepted firms for 400MW wind power project

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia invited bids from 25 shortlisted firms in order to build a 400MW wind power project, as the globe's major oil exporter pushes for renewable sources to spread its energy mix.

Furthermore, the plant in northern Al-Jouf province is the first utility-scale wind project as part of the government's reform plan to prevent the kingdom off oil.

In more details, the nation's ambitious renewable energy program will receive real economic benefits by making more than 7.000 jobs.

Recently, Saudi's power comes from crude or refined oil or natural gas, while its renewable energy program is projected to be worth more than USD50bn.
