Ukraine's largest passport center opens in Kyiv


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's largest center for the issuing of foreign biometric passports and ID cards opened in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The press secretary of the state-run Document enterprise, Volodymyr Polishchuk, told this to journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine's largest center for the processing of foreign biometric passports and ID cards started working at the Ukraina shopping mall today," he said.

According to him, for the first time ID cards will be issued only to those citizens registered in the Shevchenkivsky district of Kyiv, whereas passports will be given to any citizen of Ukraine, regardless of the place of registration.

The total area of the center is 1,400 square meters. Twenty-eight workstations will be used to service citizens, take pictures and collect biometric data. The center will employ about 100 people. Citizens will receive passports at nine desks.

The center will service up to 1,500 people per day.
