Turkmenistan ratifies treaties with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan

Turkmenistan and neighboring countries of the region, which have large stocks of hydrocarbon, advocate for the diversification of the energy flows.

The Parliament of Turkmenistan adopted new draft regulations on 'Ratification of an agreement on strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and 'Ratification of an agreement on strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, Trend reported.

The construction project of Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan - China gas line, realized in 2009 is a good illustration of this policy.

Another example of regional cooperation is the construction of Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway in 2014, which provide transport of 10-12 million of goods per year.

Large amount of cargos can be transported by this trade route to the countries of the Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Europe.

Kazakhstanjoinedthe project of the Central Asia - Middle East corridor in 2016 and since then remains a member of productive cooperation leading to highly developed trade relations.

Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are focused on the perspectives of trade-economic partnership, the development of treaty and legal bases, the cooperation in natural gas issues, in agriculture and in trans-border mining.

The areas of transport, environment and fisheries are also included to the list of issues.

Ashgabat expresses readiness to start the cooperation amid the project on electricity supply from Central to South Asia viathe Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Tajikistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan route.

The new corridor will make it possible for the countries of Central Asia to trade with ports of Persian and Oman Gulfs, using the optimal route.

Along with the targets listed above, the perspectives of customs cooperation, co-investment, railway, car and sea transport are being discussed on the experts' level by the countries.
