(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Baghdad, Aug. 29 (Petra) -- Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces on Tuesday announced they had killed 130 Daesh militants in fighting in the north of the country in the past 72 hours, it said in a statement.
It said that Daesh terrorists had suffered defeat in Tal Afar and Ayadhiya in northwestern Iraq and the militant group's fighters were trying to flee across the border into Syria.
"After 72 hours of fierce fighting, the terrorists were defeated and had suffered heavy losses, as the Peshmerga were holding 130 bodies of Daesh fighters and that the search for other terrorists was going on in the area", added the statement.
