UAE- Mohammed bin Rashid approves new RTA projects

DUBAI, 29th August, 2017 (WAM) -- Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved new key projects planned to be executed by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority over the coming period in the run-up to Expo 2020 Dubai, commending the developments already implemented by the authority as well as those still under-construction.

This came during a tour by His Highness of the RTA premises in Umm Ramool Area, Dubai, during which he was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.

"All the essential and key projects being executed by the authority will be completed ahead of Expo 2020 Dubai," said Mattar Mohamed Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the RTA, while briefing H.H. Sheikh Mohammed on the latest developments of the projects.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied during the tour as well by Mohamed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of H.H. The Ruler's Court and welcomed on arrival by RTA top executives.

Dubai will host the Expo 2020 for six months from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, in a grand event expected to attract around 25 million visitors, with around 120 countries from around the world participating.
