UAE- Sharjah Executive Council reviews EPAA's air quality monitoring report

SHARJAH, 29th August, 2017 (WAM) -- The Sharjah Executive Council, SEC, held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss several key governmental agenda items, and review infrastructure development projects with the aim to improve the quality of life for citizens and residents of the emirate.

During the meeting, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, the SEC approved the agreement to be signed between the University of Sharjah and Sharjah Education Council regarding the professional diploma in early childhood education.

The Council also reviewed the report submitted by the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, EPAA, on air quality monitoring in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The report comprised the variables measured at air monitoring stations and the results of the most prominent gases in the air, including sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide gas, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and ozone gas. The results of the readings obtained at the stations showed the positive overall rates for air in the Emirate of Sharjah. The Council thanked the EPAA for their unceasing efforts.

The Council further approved the fourth batch of candidates for the professional diploma in documentation and archiving, which is held in cooperation between the University of Sharjah and Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority. The fourth batch includes 29 candidates from various government entities in Sharjah.
