USDA to grant USD1mln to support Jordan's agriculture sector


(MENAFN) According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), it will provide Jordan with around USD1mln to support its agricultural sector for two-year operational plan.

During a meeting between Minister of Agriculture, Khalid Al-Hanifat, and a USDA delegation on Monday, the latter announced the grant, after both discussed ways to boost the capacities of the ministry's cadres in Jordan.

However, Al-Hanifat hailed US efforts to support the government and to the kingdom's agricultural sector, in terms of benefiting from the U.S. expertise in the field of water harvesting.

The USDA announced it will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture to build institutional capacities in the field of water harvesting to analyze strengths and weaknesses to enhance capacities.
