SG of OIC congratulates Iraqis on victories in Tal Afar

Jeddah, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 06, 1438 H., August 28, 2017, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen congratulated the Political leadership and people of the Republic of Iraq on the occasion of recapturing the city of Tal Afar in northern Iraq, from the grip of terrorist organization of Daesh.
He renewed the support of the Jeddah-based organization for the Iraqi government, led by Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi, in liberating Iraqi cities from the control of terrorists and extremists and restoring peace and security throughout the country.
He stressed the need to fully abide by the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Iraq, pointing out the organization's intention to continue coordination with the Iraqi government to hold the proposed Baghdad conference for national reconciliation in the framework of its keenness to achieve security and stability in Iraq.
