Qatar- DICID condemns violence against Rohingya Muslims

The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) denounced the unfortunate events in Arakan province of Myanmar on Friday, after the killing of hundreds of innocent people, and after burning their villages and homes.

The Center stressed in a statement yesterday, its total rejection of this racial conflict, which resulted in brutal treatment of more than one million Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, and where the cycle of violence is witnessing a major escalation in the conflict raging the province of the mentioned Muslim minority.

The Center attributed the main cause of this conflict to the large ethnic cleansing campaign conducted by the Myanmar security authorities against the Muslim minority, accompanied by gross human rights violations.

The United Nations described the Muslim Rohingya minority as 'the most persecuted religious minority in the world, and Human Rights Watch described those violations as ethnic genocide.

The Center also considered the racist causes of this conflict, in which hundreds of innocent lives are lost, a clear violation of the principles of humanity and the values of all religions.

The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue warned the world and the peace-loving countries of the consequences of these racist attacks against human values and called for the protection of these innocent people, and all religious minorities in the world, and stressed the need to confront terrorism firmly and forcefully.
