Qatar Academy Msheireb (QAM) recently hosted its annual ‘Back to School Night' to provide parents and teachers with the opportunity to discuss the upcoming academic year and how to enrich students' overall learning experience, while encouraging their academic and personal development.

The event took place on August 22 at QAM campus. Suad Al Kindi, Director of QAM, welcomed attendees in her opening speech. 'We, at Qatar Academy Msheireb, work hard on a daily basis to ensure our students benefit from the rich and diverse education we offer. We strive to instill in our students the highest quality social and behavioural skills within the school community, so they can become lifelong learners and responsible citizens, said Al Kindi.

During the event, Al Kindi and her team shared valuable information about several topics, including the school's mission, curriculum, teaching strategies, and evaluation methods. Parents were also given the opportunity to visit the classrooms, meet their children's teachers, and ask questions.

Amal Al Kuwari, one of the parents who attended the event, praised QAM's role in shaping the children's future: 'This is the third year for my children at QAM. It's great to find a school that offers a high quality dual-language instructional program in Arabic and English. We are completely satisfied with QAM in terms of its academic program and staff. I've recommended the school to many of my friends and family because I'm confident they'll appreciate the high-quality educational experience.

QAM believes parental guidance and involvement is critical to a child's development, and has a significant impact on a student's academic and social achievement. QAM is keen to reach out to parents, ensuring they have the information they need to support and benefit their children. Therefore, QAM aims to involve parents in activities such as workshops, support groups, and volunteering activities.

Established in 2014, QAM, which operates under Pre-University Education (PUE) at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), is a state-of-the-art elementary school that offers a 50/50 dual-language instructional program in Arabic and English.

Balanced literacy and reading and writing workshops are the main framework for its language programs. In addition, QAM utilizes both Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) to ensure all students succeed.
