Qatar- Citizens and expatriates urged to support cleanliness drive

The Department of the General Cleanness of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment yesterday started preparations for Eid Al Adha by cleaning and preparing Eid prayer yards.

The department is all set to clean and prepare places designated for Eid prayer, said Safar Mubarak Al Shafi, Director of the department, adding that there are plans and programmes set for working round-the-clock.

The Department has set up teams for this mission, he added. 'Cleaners will give priority to commercial streets, central markets, slaughterhouses, Doha Corniche and other places, said Al Shafi.

The religious rights of the workers and their rights to worship will be respected by suspending works during the prayers time. The Director urged the nationals and expatriates to cooperate, to ensure the success of the cleaning programmes, by using waste bags and also by putting the granges in containers.

Residence are also required to dispose wastes at specific times, said Al Shafi emphasising that his department is ready to provide people with all necessary support if they receive call through the call centre or the ministry's website or official social media accounts.
