Jeddah, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 02, 1438 H., August 24, 2017, SPA -- The Saudi Chinese Forum on Investment began here today.
In a key speech, the minister of energy, industry and mineral resources Eng. Khalid Al-Faleh vowed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already overpassed the era of dependence on oil and, within the framework of the Kingdom's vision 2030, it is seeking to diversify the sources of energy in the country.
He highlighted the importance of the 60 various agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the Kingdom and China in Jeddah earlier today worth nearly $70 billion.
He also disclosed that the Saudi Chinese joint committees made a good job to match the Kingdom's vision 2030 and China's Building and Road initiative, noting that China has a rich experience in changing the course of its economy, infrastructure, services and overseas trade that could benefit the Kingdom.
