Flight returns to Muscat after snag during takeoff


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Oman Air yesterday announced that flight WY 337, a Boeing 737-800 flying from Muscat to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport returned safely back to base after experiencing a technical snag on takeoff.
'Thanks to the professionalism of the well-trained crew, guests enjoyed a smooth landing back to Muscat, the airline said in a statement released in Doha.
The flight took off from Muscat at 6.13am with 137 passengers and six crew members on board. The aircraft returned to its home base after experiencing a technical snag on takeoff. The passengers and crew disembarked smoothly and without incident.
All passengers were accommodated on an alternative aircraft with the same flight number that took off at 3pm local time from Muscat.
'Oman Air's over-riding priority is to the safety and well-being of all its guests and staff, and the airline is proud of its unblemished safety record. The airline also works closely with all the airport authorities throughout its network. This incident further illustrates the effectiveness of the excellent training of their crew and co-operation with the airport authorities.
