Uber to study operations in Philippine 'soon' after fine

(MENAFN) Uber proclaimed that it predicts to resume services in the Philippines after regulators confirmed to lift a ban slapped against the American ride-sharing giant in exchange for a fine.

Moreover, the government meted Uber a one-month suspension following a tussle over driver permits.

Accordingly, the government would lift the ban following an Uber appeal, while it ordered the U.S. firm to pay a fine of USD3.7mn.

In addition, the online ride-sharing services of Uber will be restored when it has paid the amount of fine and the said fiscal assistance remitted.
