'Back to School' promotion kicks off at LuLu

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Music Lounge Qatar organised the ‘LuLu Creative Club' at the LuLu Hypermarket & Department Store in Barwa City recently to mark the beginning of the chain's ‘Back to School' promotion. The event brought together a large community of families for a day of fun, fitness, entertainment and promotions for shoppers.
The community at Barwa City came to life with music, art, dance, games, competitions and a Zumba fitness party.
The events of the day kicked off with the ‘LuLu Creative Club'. The art contest was open to children between the ages of 5 and 15 and brought together many talented young artists to the forefront to compete and win prizes sponsored by LuLu. The contest was held in the afternoon between 2pm and 4pm, at the Barwa City hypermarket's food court. The event was modulated by Jomon Jose, an art instructor at Music Lounge.
'We had our first creative club contest in the month of February and due to the great response we decided to do it again this month. We are so happy with the tremendous response from the families in the Barwa City community and also from other places like Al Wakrah, Abu Hamour, Mamoora and Al Sadd. It shows the love and passion for art and culture in this country, says Mohammed Farook, General Manager of LuLu Hypermarket Barwa City.
At 4pm, the food court exploded with high energy music and Zin Marvin (dance instructor at Music Lounge) rocked the stage with the ‘Music Lounge Zumba Party'. This party was an intense fitness workout programme with great dance moves and sensational music. Zumba is a great fitness workout activity that has proven to reduce stress, reduce calories, burns fat, regulate heart rate and blood flow, increases muscle tone and dexterity. The Music Lounge Zumba party is a free fitness drive that promotes healthy and fun living in all communities in Qatar. The party was held in collaboration with Zintensity and the Filipono Fitness Health in Qatar (FFHQ), which is the largest Zumba group in Doha.
Simultaneously, on the other side of the food court, the activities continued after the creative club contest with entertaining stage programmes for family and kids. The kids also got a chance to attend a storytelling and craft making workshop by Badliza Badrudin, Shaima El Attar and Marwa Redda Hamdi from the Barwa City Mums Group, which is voluntary nonprofit organisation of mothers living in Barwa City.
The stage activities were regularly punctuated with dance workshops for kids. The kids had great fun dancing to their favourite tunes in different languages. They also had the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun games organised by the team from Music Lounge (Reshmi and Abeer). Many parents participated in family game activities and won gift vouchers sponsored by LuLu.
The excitement continued with music and dance from the students of Music Lounge. The ML Hip Hop team took to the stage with great energy and swag to thrill the audience. The live stage-show also featured music from the Music Lounge Jr band.
The stage events kept the audience captivated throughout the evening. There was also a certificate and prize distribution ceremony at the end.
'The whole event was really a good experience to bring together different nationalities from the Barwa City community and also from nearby places to promote culture and health in Qatar. We at Music Lounge Qatar dedicate ourself to the development of resident talent and encourage the youngsters to come up and take the spotlight. We have a great training facility in Al Wakrah with professionals to give the right guidance for music, art, dance and fitness for all ages. Of course these public indoor events also let the community enjoy the wonderful facilities of dining and shopping at the LuLu Hypermarket & Department stores, said Jaisen George Director of Music Lounge Qatar.
