PBSUS and PATA Foundation unveil book on Haor Baul Songs


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Pally Baul Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (PBSUS), a nonprofit cultural organization in its efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of Bangladesh jointly with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Foundation has unveiled a book titled ' Haorer Baul Gaan'. The book contains unique collection of large number of Baul songs of Haor region of the country..

Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashed Khan Menon, PATA Chairman Andru Jones, PATA Foundation Chairman Peter Semon, other dignitaries and PBSUS officials formally unveiled the book at a ceremony held in Cox's Bazar recently.

PBSUS has been engaged in collection, preservation and promotion of Baul Songs of three selected districts of the Haor region, which is known for its rich folk songs heritage. The organization has been working for development of lives of Folk and Baul artists as well by upholding their identity, uniqueness and rights.
