Sonargaon floating restaurant opens at Pagla


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Bangladesh is a riverine country. Different tourism facilities can be provided centering on rivers. Mary Anderson Restaurant was a reflection of this. Sonargaon floating restaurant has been added in its place.

Rashed Khan Menon, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, said this while inaugurating 'Sonargaon Bhasoman Restaurant and Bar' at Pagla in Narayanganj on February 9.

Shajahan Khan, Minister for Shipping, was present on the occasion as special guest. SM Golam Faruque, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Ashok Madhab Roy, Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Alhaj Anwar Hossain, Chairman, Narayanganj Zila Parishad, Commodore M Mozammel Haque, Chairman, BIWTA, Engineer Gyan Ranjan Sheel, Ph D, Chairman, BIWTC, were also present.

Aparup Chowdhury, Chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), presided over the function.

Rashed Khan Menon thanked the Minister for Shipping for leasing the vessel to BPC.

Sonargaon Bhasoman Restaurant and Bar replaces Mary Anderson Restaurant and Bar, which was recently gutted by fire.
