Oman- PSM organises friendly cricket match to mark Independence Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- To enliven the patriotic festivity on the 70th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a friendly cricket match was organised by Pakistan School Muscat (PSM).

The teams of Pakistan Embassy XI under the captaincy of H E Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to the sultanate, and Pakistan School Muscat XI with Khalid Jadoon, principal PSM, as the captain stepped onto the ground for the thrilling match.

The evening exhibited the true colours of Pakistan with the spirit of owning the jubilation by the Pakistani community.

Muhammad Yasin Bhatti graced the occasion as the chief guest whereas Mian Muhammad Muner, chairman, Social Club, Syed Fayyaz Ali Shah, chairman, Abu Reem Group, and Shahzad Paracha, country manager, PIA, graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

Senior principal, Pakistan Schools in Oman, Ataullah Niazi, principal Junior School, Munnazza Ghafoor, faculty members and a large number of individuals from the Pakistan community marked the occasion.

In the ten overs' match, Pakistan Embassy XI, opened the inning by batting, giving a total of 108 runs to be chased by the team of PSM. With their first rate performance, the team of PSM hence claimed the trophy.

The chief guest gave medals to the players and the trophy to the captain of PSM.

The chief guest was presented with the special souvenirs from Pakistan School Muscat.
