Ukraine reports 18 enemy attacks over past 24 hours

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian-supported militants have attacked Ukrainian army positions 18 times over the past 24 hours, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.

"The past day in the ATO zone did not end calmly. The activity of the Russian-occupation groups was minimal before 19.00, but in the evening the militants began to shell our positions as usual... In general, illegal armed groups have violated the ceasefire 18 times in the past 24 hours. One Ukrainian defender was wounded, and one sustained a combat trauma," reads the report.

In the Donetsk sector, Ukrainian positions came under enemy fire near Zaitseve and the Butivka coal mine. At about 23.00, criminals fired small arms on the houses of civilians in Mayorsk for almost an hour.

In the Luhansk sector, at the end of the day the enemy opened fire twice from 82-millimeter mortars near Novooleksandrivka. As a result, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. The militants also used grenade launchers close to the villages of Katerynivka and Krymske.

In the Azov Sea sector, bandits fired at Ukrainian strong points on the outskirts of Pavlopil, Shyrokyne and Lebedynske.

Most armed provocations by the enemy were suppressed with targeted fire, using the weapons not banned by the Minsk agreements.
