Corporate earnings amid GCC resilient despite economic falls


(MENAFN) Corporate earnings through the GCC remained resilient in the Jan-June period of the year, despite a decline in economic increase from low oil prices.

Through the cited period of the year, GCC corporates reported aggregate earnings of USD33.26bn, down by 1 percent compared to the same period of 2015.

In addition, KSA, Bahrain and Kuwait showed year on year improvement in earnings with growths of 7 percent, 6 percent and 2 percent respectively.

The UAE's first half of the year corporate earnings performance was down by 2 percent year on year, while on a sequential basis aggregate earnings were more than 152 percent.
