Saudi- Ministry of Environment lifts ban on importing live birds from Malaysia, Poland, Austria and Serbia

Riyadh, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 01, 1438 H., August 23, 2017, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has lifted the ban on the import of live birds, hatching eggs and chicks from Malaysia, Poland, Austria and Serbia after having proven free from highly virulent bird flu.
The Director General of the Department of Animal Risk Assessment Dr. Sanad Al-Harbi, said that the lifting of the ban was based on follow-up of the epidemiological situation in the world veterinary through the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which shows no register of new hot spots for bird flu during the past three months in the above-mentioned countries.
