(MENAFN) A whole of 17.815mn cheques worth Dh886.7bn have been handled by the Cheque Clearing System amid the Jan-July period of the year.
Meanwhile, number of cheques cleared amid July reached 2.66mn worth Dh131.7bn, an increase of 4.7 percent over June.
In addition, bounced cheques since Jan amid the end of July were valued at Dh40bn, reaching 4.5 percent only of the total value of cheques by the system.
In May, cheques value reached Dh133.4bn, amid 2.7mn cheques, with 107.000 cheques worth Dh5.4bn rejected for different reasons.
