Five killed in bomb blast targeting military convoy in Helmand

KABUL, 23 August: At least five people were killed and 25 others wounded when a suicide bomber targeted a military convoy in Helmand province Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The spokesman for the Helmand provincial governor, the bombing took place in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital, where people were waiting to collect salaries from a bank.
The attack comes just days after President Donald Trump announced his new strategy for Afghanistan, which involves maintaining a US military presence in the country.
