Irving to facilitate Orbis' Flying Eye Hospital Program


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) DHAKA : Irving Aviation Ltd. (IAL) will support the 10th Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) Program, conducted by Orbis International Bangladesh ,as the Logistic Partner. An agreement to this effect was signed between the organizations in Dhaka on Monday, August 21.

The 10th FEH is scheduled from 16 November to 4 December 2017 at Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong and the program to be hosted by the Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex (CEITC).

The program plans to celebrate the success of blindness prevention by the Orbis for over 30 years in Bangladesh with the support from the key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh (OSB) and its partners and Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex (CEITC).

It will showcase the progress made in the National Childhood Blindness Reduction (NCBR) program and success of Orbis activities in Bangladesh.

The two-week FEH program will provide Hands on Training to 60 doctors, anesthetists and nurses on sub-specialty like Pediatric Cataract and Strabismus, Adult Cataract (Phaco), Medical Retina and ROP, Anesthesia, Biomed, Cornea, Surgical Retina, Oculoplastic and Neuro-ophthalmology.

Orbis International started its journey in Bangladesh in 1985 through its Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) program and since then has conducted nine FEH program in Dhaka and Chittagong.
