Now Aadhaar mandatory for open school exams

The scope of Aadhaar has extended further. From now, the Unique Identity will be mandatory to appear for open school exams to prevent cheating.
The HRD has already approved the proposal. The National Institute of Open Learning will implement the move from the next exam.
The decision reportedly came after proxy candidates were caught in the last exam in March.
How will the move be implemented?

There will be scanners at the examination centres. The students will have to provide their thumb prints which will then be cross-checked with the individual's details in the Aadhaar database. If there's a mismatch, the student might be refused permission to appear for the exam.

Sometime ago, SEBI asked the bourses to notify if brokers are prepared to take Aadhaar card details from their clients before December 31.
Earlier this month, the government made it mandatory for registration of deaths starting October 1.
In July, the list of Aadhaar-mandatory sectors had expanded to include buying and selling property.
In mid-August, the government had deactivated 81L Aadhaar accounts.
