(MENAFN- UkrinForm) U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker has met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius in Vilnius.
Linkevicius reported this on his Twitter page.
"Welcomed good friend amb. K. Volker. Transatlantic unity & principled posture - key in bringing end to Russia's aggression against Ukraine," the minister wrote.
Volker had a private meeting with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov in Minsk on August 21.
In Vilnius, he is scheduled to hold talks with the Lithuanian government on the settlement of the Ukrainian issue, in particular regarding the cessation of hostilities in Donbas.
On August 23, Volker will travel to Kyiv to join U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis in meetings with senior Ukrainian government officials to discuss "next steps in diplomatic negotiations to restore Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
