Rail accident in India leaves 20 deaths at least


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, 11 train coaches derailed in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, leaving at least 20 people dead, the fifth rail accident in the country during the past year.

According to the spokesperson in Northern Railways, the Kaifiyat Express traveling from Azamgarh to the capital Delhi crashed with a dumper carrying construction material around 2110 GMT, causing the coaches to overturn.

Also Central Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu tweeted that several of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Moreover, the rail system in India is the fourth largest network.
