Georgian PM hails Azerbaijan's aid in tackling forest fires in Georgia

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has hailed the assistance of neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, in extinguishing the ongoing forest fires in the country, the Georgia-Online reported.

'The first important help came from Azerbaijan,' Kvirikashvili said. 'The Azerbaijani helicopter is taking part in extinguishing forest fires in Georgia. Two helicopters of Turkey are already in Batumi and they will soon join the fire tackling operation.'

The forest fires in Georgia broke out August 20.

Under the order of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Ministry of Emergency Situations sent a helicopter to Georgia to help extinguish forest fires in Borjomi-Kharagauli Reserve.
