Online sale of sacrificial animals becomes popular


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) With Eid al-Adha approaching the social media, including Facebook and Twitter, have become selling points of sacrificial animals cows, goats and camels that are available at the prices ranging from Rs25,000 to Rs180,000.
The people are showing keen interest in online purchase of sacrificial animals that cannot only save their time but also help them avoid poor conditions and the rush of traffic in highly congested cattle markets.
The traditional animal dealers would somewhat face a competition from the online cattle markets as the influx of new trends and extra ordinary high rates of animals often disappoint the potential customers.
There are number of online websites that are offering sacrificial animals everywhere in Pakistan at different rates.
But average price for camel is approximately Rs170,000, cow Rs90,000 and goat Rs45,000 on websites being operated through Internet.
Wasim Baig, who works for an online website, said a majority of the privileged class is relying on online goat markets to place orders this time for sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha eliminating the hassle of physically visiting the marketplace and tension of haggling over prices.
