Pakistan- CM Khattak announces compensation for dengue victims

PESHAWAR, 22 August: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak on Tuesday announced compensation package of Rs 500,000 to each family with a member who fell prey to the dengue virus.
CM Khattak along with Health Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai and MPA Yasin Khalil visited the dengue-affected Tehkal area of Peshawar city.
While talking to the local residents, CM Khattak that KP government will provide financial support to all those relatives whose dear ones have lost their lives due to dengue fever. He said he is personally monitoring relief activities in the dengue-affected area to ensure effective measures to control dengue outbreak. He said that his government believed in practical work and did not want to get people's attention through media. He said that other provinces should avoid politicizing the dengue virus issue.
While criticizing Punjab government, CM Khattak said that relief goods are transported from Punjab without informing the local administration which shows Punjab government's intentions.
The Chief Minister directed the health department officials to take practical steps for creating awareness among the public regarding dengue virus.
