Egypt aims 5pct GDP increase by end 2017/18


(MENAFN) Egypt predicts its GDP to increase by 5 percent by the end of the year and the coming year that started in July, as proclaimed the planning minister.

Accordingly, Finance Minister predicted GDP growth to reach 4.6-4.8 percent in the cited years, while the country's economic growth has worsened since a 2011 uprising.

The country's exports are projected to grow to USD22.5bn by the cited years compared with the USD20.5bn it reached by the end of the previous year.

In addition, Egypt aims whole investment worth USD36.5bn in 2017/18 compared with USD29.92bn in the previous year.
