Siemens expands its service to operate Khormala power plant in Iraq
(MENAFN) Siemens has increased the firm's recent service agreement with KAR Group in Iraq in order to offer comprehensive operations and maintenance to add two new units at Khormala power plant.
Meanwhile, the 930MW natural gas-fired power plant meets almost 30 percent of the power demand aimed by the regional government, supplying more than 3mn people with reliable elect.
Accordingly, the recent power demand in Iraq reaches 21GW and is increasing faster than supply, while the local government aims to enhance capacity by building new power plants.
Recently, the firm managed almost 2.800MW across the MENA region and over 16.000MW globally.
