Polythene producers staged a protest in Colombo today over a ban on some polythene products from September.
The Government has taken a decision to ban polythene and lunch sheets taking into consideration the impact it has on the environment.
The Government has suggested the use of alternative materials such as banana leaves, lotus leaves and paper bags as an alternative to lunch sheets. (Colombo Gazette)
