DUBAI - August 21, 2017: Clikon, one of the region's fastest growing brands for home appliances and consumer electronics, announced its agreement with retail major Carrefour to distribute Clikon's ‘MyLight' flashlight and other range of products at Carrefour outlets across the GCC.
The agreement was signed between Mr Faizal Abdul Karim, Business Head of Clikon and Carrefour at a ‘switching on the lights' ceremony held at City Centre Shindagha in the presence of senior officials from Carrefour and Clikon.
Owned by Majid Al Futtaim, Carrefour is one of the largest hypermarket and supermarket chains in the world with presence in 38 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Clikon is a major consumer electronics and household appliances brand in the GCC and Indian markets. The wide range of products under the brand includes lighting, kitchen appliances, home appliances and entertainment devices.
Speaking on the agreement with Carrefour, Mr. Abudulla Poyil, Chairman of Clikon, said, 'We are pleased to join the regional retail giant Carrefour. Clikon has achieved an accelerated growth in the past couple of years as a home-grown brand and with our agreement with Carrefour, we will take our brand to the next level. We are in a strong market position and will strengthen our sales by 20 per cent with the foray into Carrefour chain of stores.
'The Consumer Appliances sector is fuelled by constant change and growth with new products entering the market. Clikon is committed to lead that growth, offering the latest innovative products to enhance the consumer experience, he added.

Mr. Haris K, Executive Director of Clikon, said, 'We recently launched the innovative flashlight product, labelled ‘MYLIGHT' and ‘Made in Malaysia', in the UAE market. The rechargeable LED flashlight is a first-of-its-kind lighting product in the world and we offer a lifetime warranty for it. Our research and development team worked for over a year to develop the product and is constantly looking for ways to improve and enhance the product based on customer needs and feedback. We are planning to procure more products from Malaysia in the future.
