Upper Dir administration bans transportation of sacrificial animals outside district

TIMERGARA, 21 August: The Upper Dir district administration has imposed a ban on the transportation of sacrificial animals out of the district.
According to a statement issued by district nazim Faseeh Ullah said that the ban was imposed to facilitate local people as ahead of Eid

    Azha, the cattle dealers were used to transport livestock to Afghanistan, Punjab and other areas at high prices.
    The statement further added that people who tried to transport sacrificial animals out of the district would be apprehended at the check posts. The administration warned of strict action against violators of the ban.
    It was observed that prices of different sacrificial animals had decreased compared to the previous year at the cattle markets in the district.
    Local people said ban on transportation of animals to Afghanistan and other areas by the administration was the reason behind price decrease.
