Millions of Americans wait for total solar eclipse on Monday


(MENAFN) Millions of Americans are preparing to take positions along slender ribbon of land cutting diagonally across the US to watch the first total solar eclipse from coast to coast in nearly a century.

The sight of the moon's shadow will pass directly in front of the sun which will draw one of the largest audiences in human history, according to experts.

Around 12 million people live in the zone where the total eclipse will appear on Monday, and millions of others are travelling to spots along the route to bask in its full glory.

However, the number of people anticipating the event will smash records when include those watching on broadcasting and social media.
