Malaysia's economy grows fast in Q2 to 5.8%


(MENAFN) Malaysian economy had posted Q2 results high due to strong consumer spending and growth in manufacturing.

According to Bank Negara Malaysia, the gross domestic product for Malaysian economy increased 5.8% from a year earlier, after growing 5.6% in the previous quarter.

While estimates were 5.4%, GDP increased on seasonally adjusted basis at 1.3% from the previous three months.

Overall, economy in the country is growing significantly in more than two years, as the World Bank raised growth estimates in June, expecting 4.9% expansion this year.
