The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) says an open invitation has been extended for SLFP members to attend the party convention next month.
The convention was scheduled to he held on September 2 but it will now be held on September 3, SLFP member and Minister S.B. Dissanayake said.
He said that party leaders of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) have also been invited to attend the convention.
The SLFP is to hold its anniversary convention at Campbell Park in Borella.
Dissanayake said that the Police had made a request to postpone the convention instead of holding it on September 2 as some schools around the venue will he hosting exams.
As a result the President issued instructions for the convention to be held on September 3. (Colombo Gazette)
