One killed, 5 injured in clashes at Palestinian camp in Lebanon

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Beirut, Aug.20 (Petra)- One person was killed and five others were injured late Saturday in violent clashes erupted at the densely-populated Palestinian refugee camp in Ain el-Hilweh in the southern Lebanon, a security source said Sunday.

The source told Petra's reporter in Beirut that clashes broke out and continued overnight between the Palestinian joint security force and the two extremist groups of Badr and Arqoub, using machineguns and rocket-propelled grenades and leaving one person killed and five others wounded.

A number of houses in the Al Tiri neighborhood inside the camp were set ablaze by mortar shells forcing dozens of families to flee the camp, the source added.
