Italian police to boost security ties in Rome


(MENAFN) Italian police in Rome said that security will be reinforced after the Barcelona terror attack; in addition to that there will be checks on car rentals and any vans heading to the city center.

Italy's Interior Minister Marco Minniti said that the government will intensify security measures at sensitive targets and areas where people tend to gather after the two attacks hit Europe during the last two days.

Premier Paolo Gentiloni talked with Spanish Premier Mariano Rajoy to express condolences, friendship and solidarity over the attacks, and expressed unity and firmness towards terror, which will never beat freedom and democracy.
