Yemeni Foreign Minister Confirms before UN Security Council, Government Bids Made to Bring about Peace

New York, Dhu-AlQa'dah 26, 1438, Aug 18, 2017, SPA -- Yemeni Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi affirmed government's willingness to make all concessions, whatever the difficulties, for the just and sustainable peace that the Yemeni people deserve.
"We have accepted all proposals made by the UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, and we will remain open to all ideas and proposals, however, this Council, he added in a speech to the UN Security Council, during the opening briefing on the Middle East, should exert international pressure on the other parties to accept these proposals, to show sincere intentions and open minds to bring about peace through the table of consultations. "
He renewed support of the legitimate government for the efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen and its support for the latest proposals and ideas put forward by the envoy to the President of the Republic of Yemen Mansour Hadi, the arrangements for the withdrawal of militias from the province of Hodeidah, in the light of peace consultations, in Kuwait, last year as well as the formation of a technical committee of financial experts and economists to assist the government, in finding an appropriate and urgent mechanism to pay the salaries of employees in the administrative apparatus of the state and deal with revenues in the areas of controlled by the forces loyal to the coup, in order to provide the necessary liquidity to cover these expenses, which unfortunately still Houthi and deposed Saleh keep to reject.
