(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Boryspil International Airport intends to build the second runway, the cost of which is estimated at UAH 8 billion.
Deputy Director General of the airport, Yevhen Dykhne, stated this during a press conference on August 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Without exact calculations, we can't tell the sum of costs needed for runway construction, but we aim at UAH 8 billion. We will have to take a loan because we will not be able to build the object for two construction seasons," he stated.
According to Dykhne, the airport's management most likely will apply to the Cabinet of Ministers so that to attract an international investor.
Director of state-run designing technological and scientific institute of civil aviation Ukraeroproekt, Kyryl Novikov, in turn, specified that the need for the second runway construction is caused by an increase in passenger traffic.
