Pakistan- Javed Afridi phones father of deceased cricketer

PESHAWAR, August 17: Owner of Peshawar Zalmi franchise Javed Afridi on Thursday expressed sorrow over the demise of a cricket player in Mardan and called his father.

Zubair Ahmad who was hit by a ball on his neck while playing at a cricket academy owned by national player Fakhar Zaman and died on the spot.

A statement issued by Peshawar Zalmi media wing said that Javed Afridi talked to Ahmad's father and younger brother and expressed sympathies to them.

It said that Afridi announced to afford all education expenses of Ahmad's younger brother Uzair Ahmad and would take him to Dubai for Pakistan Super League matches..

The tragic demise of Ahmad was regretted by all Pakistan Cricket Board and all national players and prayed for the department soul.
