Ukraine has not been using Russian gas for over 600 days PM Groysman

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has not been using Russian gas for more than 600 days and there are already positive dynamics in domestic gas production.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this at a conference call on preparations for the upcoming heating season during a working visit to Mykolayiv region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We have been living without Russian gas for more than 600 days already. We carry out large-scale modernization of the energy system, increase our own gas production and already see the positive dynamics," the Head of Government said.

As Groysman noted, there is a need not only to replace the imported gas but also to implement the energy-efficient measures to reduce the consumption of energy resources and improve the quality of services in the fuel and energy sector.

As reported, Ukraine stopped to import gas from Russia on November 25, 2015.
