Palestinians injured in Israeli raid in Dheisheh refugee camp


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Aug.16 (Petra)-- A number of Palestinian youths were injured Wednesday at Dawn after Israeli soldiers stormed the Dheisheh refugee camp in the West Bank district of Bethlehem, a Palestinian source said.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Red Crescent, Israeli soldiers broke into a number of houses in the camp, ransacked their properties and handed citizens summons to appear before the Israeli intelligence.

A number of Palestinians were injured as violent clashes erupted in the camp when the Israeli soldiers fired live steel-coated rubber bullets and tear gas canisters against the locals, who resisted only by throwing stones, the statement added .

Israeli forces also closed shops saying sell fireworks for youths in the camp.
